Replace my Mixtour Pro with DJM-V10?

  • Mac book pro M1 4 TB 64GB mem
  • Version of DJay pro is latest
  • Mixtour pro, ddj-Sp1, rane 12mk2, launchpad mini mk3, rmx 500
  • Yamaha MX10au mixer

YOUR QUESTION:

  1. Hi i am thinking of moving to a v10 from mixtour pro and yamaha because I can’t separate the channels coming out of the reloop mixtour pro mixer to the yamaha which means I can only use the send mono feature going to the rmx across all channel rather than separating them so I can choose what fx to use on whatever channel or the live out. I want to be able to split the channels so each channel is dedicated in djay pro to a channel on the v10.

  2. As I have the rane 12 that can handle the transport functions of up to 4 decks so an additional controller won’t be required. I also use the sp1 which does almost all the same functions as the mixtour.

  3. So main question is can I route channels in Djay to individual channels on a v10.

  4. Benefits of using v10 over mixtour and yamaha are better Hardware fx. Better sound card. Routing of efx to another channel. Stereo send receive rather than mono. Plus all of the sound sculpting.

  5. I also do a bit of scratching so I need to know if the v10 crossfader can be replaced as it looks like the mixtour pro crossfader is proprietary can can’t be swapped for a inofader.

Hi @Fatman, welcome to the Community!

  1. First of all, I can confirm that the Pioneer DJ DJM-V10 is officially supported on macOS and Windows:
    A. DJ Controllers, DJ Mixers and other DJ Accessories | Algoriddim
    B. It’s also DVS compatible with djay on macOS and Windows: Which DVS-compatible mixers work with djay? | Algoriddim Support
  2. Second, this is an External Mixer Mode only device, so yes you can route each channel in djay to separate channels on the V10:
    A. Internal and External mixer mode | Algoriddim Support
    B. External Mixers | Algoriddim Support
    C. Recording using an external mixer | Algoriddim Support

I hope that helps!

Thank you I see the A9 down too which is great as I’m thinking of replace the yamaha and the mixtour pro for either a9 or v10 maybe even nxs2. Getting some strange mid range drop outs randomly. Have all neo d+ cables and still can’t isolate it. I have a ground loop isolator which removed some of the bad sounds. I have a Dti box and a gorack pro that I’m going to try on the master out to see if that makes a difference. But i have a gig coming up where there is a second dj setup(denon) where we are going back to back so I want the audio perfect.

You’re welcome @Fatman. Have you tried different, high-quality, properly shielded, USB cables with dual ferrites on either end to connect to your Mac? Have you tried a different USB port on your Mac? Are you using a high-quality powered USB hub?

Hi Slak_Jaw

I only use Neo by Oyaide d+ cables. I also use 2 reloop hubs 1 x pro and 1 x pro. Both powered with 3 pin earthing to power cable.

Just having a look at the denon mixer x1850.

I like that it has stereo send/receive like a9 & v10

Try testing with a direct USB connection and removing the hubs.

Yeah tried that. The sound coming out of the mix.

Okay. Thanks for the follow up.
