Hello, there are quite a few tracks that change key half way through. So - while you may get a perfect “match” going into them, everything you cue while the track is playing makes sense until…the key change. It’s almost like you need the opening bars to be analysed for mixing into, and the closing minute to be analysed for mixing out of. Two examples would be Whitney Houston’s How Will I Know or I Wanna Dance With Somebody.
Thanks for sharing @djandrewmarston. Can you please clarify what your Suggestion for this is?
There are two thoughts on this: visually and practically.
Visually, it could display as CM > DM (or 5A > 7A)
Practically, it would suggest this track if CM(5A) was compatible. But while the track is playing, it would suggest tracks that are compatible with DM(7A).
Thanks for clarifying. Would you want to show this visually on the waveform or somewhere else?
I have changed the topic title from “Key changes in a track” to “Show Key changes in a track” for clarify.
Thank you. Definitely where the keys are populated in the library. But, maybe on the waveform where tempo changes are registered, key changes are also displayed in a similar fashion.
Sounds good. I’ll share this with our devs for consideration. In the meantime, please use the blue Vote button at the top left of this page so we can gauge user demand for this feature. Thanks!
