This controller should have been supported in the Mac OS and Windows platforms for years now. Hoping that the previous year’s request, over 4 years now, can also be considered in addition to the new poll. I’m sure there are many more users wanting this that haven’t visited this site to see the poll.
It seems as though the folks at Djay Pro aren’t willing to work on popular mixers or controllers if they aren’t iOS capable. If a popular mixer and controller, especially those that are requested frequently by your end users, are Mac OS and Windows OS compatible, why not at least make that available for your end users?……
Thanks for the feedback @robertrl21. Please cast your vote in my updated poll above so we can gauge demand for macOS/Windows only. Thanks!
I don’t think the DJ 707m is really as popular as the above post suggests or would like to suggest. It’s not just about the absolute number of users of this controller, but also those who (want to) use Algoriddim Djay.
It is also mentioned that devices that are not iOS-compatible are not given sufficient consideration during development. I don’t know if this is the case, but I can well imagine it is. However, I can understand this, because what sets Djay apart from other products in this segment is precisely the possibility of using it on mobile devices, especially on the iPhone and iPad. That is what has contributed significantly to the spread of Djay. In this respect, I can understand that Algoriddim is not forgetting its roots here
One could also blame Roland, which apparently has no interest in ensuring basic compatibility.
Of course, this is just my personal opinion, and it’s perfectly fine if others have different opinions on the matter.
To respond to a few of the points made above.
Djay Pro’s roots were computer based. Well before being made available on iOS.
Roland is absolutely to blame for not further developing full class compliant functionality. However, my particular request is to have Djay Pro developers work on a Computer based functionality (Laptop is considered mobile device) for this particular controller. No different than Serato, RB, Traktor, Virtual DJ, etc..
The Roland Dj707m has been highly rated and touted for mobile DJs, particularly wedding DJs for its robust feature set. Til this day it is a top rated and suggested controller by most DJ websites and annual DJ Census. This request string has had over 100 reply’s spanning over 4 years. I think this would answer the question if this is a popular controller.
Thanks for the additional input everyone
@Slak_Jaw please make this happen, this is definitely one of the most voted request, there is really no point of avoiding this controller, it looks bad on you guys, just add this for goodness sake…
Thanks for the feedback @hardbea7
Any update on this getting Mac OS or Windows OS support?
Thanks for checking in @robertrl21. We don’t have any updates to share at the moment.
Is there any hope for the Roland DJ 707M? I don’t want to sell it because I keep holding out that I can use Djay Pro. If you tell me there’s hope, that’s enough. I’m not asking for a date anymore.
Hi @DJ_Jam_Sessions, there is no hope for this being supported on iOS or Android. However, it’s still possible that support could come for macOS and Windows.
Yes it does! but I wish someone would make a full mapping for the Roland dj707m it is amazing controller adn djay software too, I love vjd really but I use djay with my ipad and would love to be able to use it with this controller… without having to map everything ofcourse… cheers
That would be just “Amazing” really
Voting for this too, on the Mac!!
