"Track not available" - greyed out

  • MB AIR M2
  • SONOMA 14.7.1
  • Version of djay (5.6.2)

Hi guys, I’m still using Traktor as my main software. I analyze and adjust my entire music library there. When I use DJ Pro, I grab my playlists and songs from the Traktor import button. But let’s get to the point: there are some songs that, when I try to upload them, I get a message saying they’re not available. They’re black on the playlist. Can you tell me how to fix this?

Hi @Screma,

  1. On macOS, please navigate to the System Settings>Privacy & Security>Files & Folders and make sure djay is added here.
  2. Please also navigate to the System Settings>Privacy & Security>Full Disk Access and make sure djay is added here.
  3. Where are these missing files located (internal Mac storage, iCloud, external drive)?
  4. Please refer to the linked help topic: Tracking and relinking files | Algoriddim Support

I checked, but djay doesn’t even appear where you said. I can see rekordbox, I can see traktor, but not djay.
But I don’t understand why I can see all the other files properly.
Furthermore, the files are all in the same COLLECTION folder, inside the MUSIC folder.
All the music files are thrown in there, and from there dragged into the various software programs.

Hi @Screma,

  1. At the bottom of the Full Disk Access Settings there is a small “+” button.
  2. Select it then navigate to Applications and add djay Pro.
  3. Then go back to Files & Folders and make sure djay Pro shows up here.
  4. Reboot you Mac and test again…

I’ve done all the steps, but unfortunately it doesn’t want to load that track.
However, if I take the same track directly from the original folder, it loads it.
The strange thing is that it doesn’t load it, but it displays all the hotcues perfectly.
And the even stranger thing is that if I right-click that folder, taken from the Traktor link, and import it into my djay collection, it loads the same song.
What it doesn’t do is load it while it’s under the Traktor-Djay link.

  1. Are you sure these songs are fully downloaded on your Mac and not coming from iCloud?
  2. Do you have iCloud Drive enabled in System Settings> Apple ID>iCloud Drive
  3. Are these DRM protected songs by chance?
  4. Maybe try dragging and dropping the file from the original folder on your Mac into the main Music Playlist of My Collection.
  5. If that doesn’t work, please share a short screen recording of what you’ve described above. Thanks!

Hi, I checked everything just to be sure, but I already knew the answers. The songs are all on my Mac, available on all software, and loaded onto the current main one, Traktor. I’ll make a video for you so you can understand better.

I’ll add that the same playlist taken from Traktor causes the same problem I mentioned earlier.
But if I import the playlist into my collection and go into that specific folder, I can play the same song without any problems.

Thanks for the videos @Screma - very helpful.

  1. What if the you check the consistency of your Traktor collection, relocating any missing tracks? This could repair any missing paths that might be corrupted in the nml file.
  2. Or you can also export the collection with a different name and load this new collection file in djay. Make sure that Traktor is closed before using the collection.nml file - the collection file is only updated when closing the app.

Hello! It’s been a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!

Hi, I’ve been very busy and haven’t been able to get to the computer these days, but unfortunately the problem persists and isn’t resolved. The only way to fix it is to import the playlist into my library and get the track from there, rather than from the Traktor link. In that case, it works, as I already showed in the video.

No problem @Screma. I’ll keep this topic open then. When you get time, can you please try the suggestions shared above? Thanks!

Forgive me I wasn’t clear. I proceeded to do everything you advised. But it didn’t help to solve the problem.
