Traktor Z2 Mappings v1

I have created a mapping with the Z2 mixer for Djay Mac and PC.
You will have to have the NI Controller Editor for everything to work.

INFO:

  • Device model: Traktor Z2 Mixer
  • Version of operating system: OSX, Windows
  • Version of djay: 5.6.9

This is v1. may try to improve some more once I figure out the controller editor more.

To install:

Download Zip below.

Open containing folder, there will be 2 files, one for Djay app, one for NI Controller Editor.
Open NI controller Editor and goto File > Open Configuration and load the DJAYPRO.ncc file.

This is necessary to have the hot cues / flux / buttons to work with toggle functionality. Without this, buttons will react when double tapped. The Toggle option in the NI Controller Editor will allow you to change this.

next for the Djay app mappings.

You can install custom .djayMidiMapping files by double-clicking the file or dragging it directly onto the djay Pro app icon.

double click on the .djayMidiMapping file and it will load / open Djay.

that should be it.

Use:

flux buttons are play / pause

hotcues 1-4 work after you initially set the cuepoint

vol / eq / crossfade / gain working

Shift + Loop Knob on deck 1 and 2 move the decks playhead according to your move options set by the move point.

you can turn on these view options under View > Show Tools.

I have set these option in Settings > Sound.

All Volume Options: on.

Audio Output:

Auto Limiter: on

Output Headroom -6db

I was reading that there was no native mapping support for Djay so I thought I would make one and share it out.

You’re welcome. I don’t have a Z2 anymore so can’t personally provide any feedback, but I’m sure there are some Community users that will be happy to test it out.
