Transfer My Collection Playlists to new iPad

Are we still not able to transfer our music library to a different iPad? If my iPad quits functioning or if I want to use one for backup is there a dedicated login we can use to duplicate the same playlists either through Apple or login we create through settings? I realize we may have to pay for another subscription but just would like this feature.

Hi @Carla_Spence, what music source are you using? Are you using Local Music stored on your iPad or only streaming services? Please provide more details.

Hi, I know the streaming services transfers over, I am speaking of the
playlists that are created using the streaming which is stored in my
collection.

Thanks for clarifying @Carla_Spence. All of your My Collection playlists can easily be transferred from one device to another by copying over the djay Media Library database file. On iOS you can find the database using the Files app in On My iPad>djay>User Data. No other subscriptions are required.

If you are only using streaming services, no other steps are required. However, if you are using Local Music, you will also need to copy your actual mp3 files to the new device as well.

Yes @Carla_Spence, I explained how to do this already above. Please note, these are the playlist contained in the My Collection music source.

EDIT: I’ve also changed the title of this topic to more accurately reflect your question.
