I am new to DJPro, and I am trying to add my local music library to DJPro so I can search for my songs. I went into DJPro and added my file folder to the “My Files” section. I am only seeing the music files that are in the root of the directory, and not any of the subfolders. Any help would be appreciated.
It only displays the tracks stored in the selected folder. In my opinion, it is not possible to display all tracks in the respective path.
A workaround would be to create a playlist from each folder. Then the search would work across the entire library - and I believe that this is what the developers intended. Unfortunately, this is not always helpful in practice, because changes made on one side are not transferred to the other. If there were a synchronization option, it would be a great help.

Hallo ich bin ebenfalls neu und ich denke vielleicht passt mein Thema zu der Frage bzgl. der Dateien. Wie kann ich denn über die Suchfunktion im gesamten Ordner einen Titel finden ? Es wird mir nichts angezeigt. Ich wähle ja zwischen durchsuchen und Playlist durchsuchen. Durchsuchen habe ich so verstanden das dann einfach der gesamte Ordner durchsucht wird.
Vielleicht gibt es ja auch jemanden der in der Nähe Osnabrück beheimatet und mir es direkt zeigen könnte

Hello, I’m also new here, and I think my topic might be relevant to the question about files. How can I find a song in the entire folder using the search function? Nothing is displayed. I choose between browsing and browsing the playlist. I understand that browsing simply means the entire folder is searched.
Maybe someone lives near Osnabrück and could point me in the right direction

Hi @SIRUP, welcome to the Community! Try adding your music to My Collection instead and creating your folder and playlist structure there.

Schade das man nicht direkt die Ordner einfach hineinziehen kann. Aber ich
habe es jetzt erst einmal über die Kollektion eingefügt. Seltsamerweise hat
er nicht alle Titel übernommen. Und nun habe ich festgestellt, dass ich
auch nachträglich weder manche Titel in eine Playlist ziehen kann, noch in
einen Player von Djay Pro. Gehe ich aber auf den Titel und öffne ihn im
Explorer über Djay pro, lädt er ihn in den Player. Ansonsten ist ist nicht
möglich den Titel in eine Playlist zu schieben noch direkt in einen Player
zu laden. Ich habe es dann noch mit Traktor und Serato ausprobiert. Jeweils
dort haben die Programme damit keine Probleme. Bisher hatte ich mich
gewundert, dass Djay einige tausend Titel kann ich übernommen hat.
Anscheinend hat das System einige Probleme, wo aber Serato und Traktor ganz
normal laufen.
Ich arbeite mit der neusten Version bzw. habe das Abo käuflich erworben und
mit Windows 11.
Vielleicht gibt es ja eine Lösung. Ansonsten wäre leider Djay Pro für mich
unbrauchbar.

It’s a shame you can’t just drag and drop the folders directly. But I’ve added it via the collection for now. Strangely, it didn’t import all the tracks. And now I’ve discovered that I can’t add some tracks to a playlist or to a player in Djay Pro, even after the fact. However, if I go to the track and open it in Explorer via Djay Pro, it loads it into the player. Otherwise, it’s not possible to add the track to a playlist or load it directly into a player. I then tried it with Traktor and Serato. Neither program has any problems with it. Until now, I was surprised that Djay was able to import several thousand tracks.
Apparently, the system has some issues, while Serato and Traktor are working perfectly.
I’m using the latest version, or rather, I purchased the subscription, and I’m running Windows 11.
Perhaps there’s a solution. Otherwise, Djay Pro would unfortunately be unusable for me.

Hi @SIRUP, can you please confirm that djay has full access to the drives and folders where these songs are stored? This sounds like it could be a permissions/access issue.

Thanks for your message. Since all the tracks are in one folder and Djay handles most of them, it should already be shared, right? Where can I change that? Do you mean sharing the folder itself, or can access be controlled by Djay itself?
Hi again @SIRUP, what I meant was a Windows permissions issue. There is not a separate permissions setting in djay.
Are the songs you’re having issue with a different file format than the ones that work?
