Unlock cue / loop editor default state

I’m not sure what the official name of the icon is, looks like a pen and you have to click it in order to edit cue / loop points.

It would be great if we could set the default state of this to be on or off, and even better, if it remembers what state it was in. For example…

I’ve loaded a track, edited a few cue points and now I want to drop into the loop editor, I have to click edit again, but then when I go back to cue points, I have to click edit AGAIN in order to enable the function. It’s a bit annoying!

Can it be set to “always allow edits” maybe?
