I know it’s possible to use Ableton link to have two iOS devices synced to the same BPM however is it possible to use a second iOS device essentially just as a mini controller as there are so many features packed into the app it wouldbe great to have Dj running onto two iOS devices And having one as my main device and the second device having for example just the neural mix options showing, or I could basically select which screen.
Hi @Nubium,
- This is not currently possible as you have described. Only linking the BPM’s via Ableton Link.
- It is, however, possible to use an Apple Watch to wirelessly control djay on iPhone (iPad not supported).
- Also, you may want to check out TouchOSC for using one of your iOS devices as a wireless MIDI controller. I discuss this more in the linked topic below. Please note that this is my own personal setup and not officially supported by myself or Algoriddim. However, if you have some time and are tech savvy, I highly recommend you check it out TouchOSC - it’s super powerful.
Oh yes, I’ve heard of that. The next question that comes to mind because iPads are so expensive is is it worth using an android tablet as a controller have you tried that?
I’ve never tried this with an Android device so I don’t know.
