My current MIDI mappings are heavily reliant on the selected deck. These MIDI mappings are set to target the “Selected Deck” and are functioning well in my configuration.
I switch the selected deck using two dedicated MIDI controls. However, since there is no visual indicator in the UI, I sometimes lose track of which deck is currently active.
A small visual indicator in the UI (for the 2-deck layout) would be extremely helpful in this regard. This feature was already suggested back in 2022.
Could you please reconsider implementing this simple yet important feature?
I have a small Quality of Life request/suggestion if please, is it possible to get a visual cue in the UI that shows which deck is the “Selected Deck”?
For example, if I am in 4 Decks mode, and I have some MIDI controls mapped to effect the “Selected Deck”, it would great to have some sort of visual cue that you could see at a glance which deck was the selected deck?
Please see the attached screenshot as a mock-up example of what I’m thinking on Deck 2?
The lack of visual indicator of selected deck a showstopper for me. To explain more, I am coming from Traktor, because of Apple music support. I have always played songs using keyboard shortcuts, where I toggle the active deck via the space key. However, with djay I am completely lost, because I do not see what deck is active. How can I safely start stop song, when I never know, which deck is selected? I am mixing on a hardware dj mixer, so I have software crossfader always in the middle (or completely bypassed in case of Traktor). Please, add this feature . If you recommend to have different shortcuts for different decks - that would not work for me. Over years, my keyboard shortcuts are so baked in my brain and fingers, that it works almost on a subconscious level. Please, fix this..
