Hi @megamema, I’ve never had any issues using my MIDI mappings across iOS, macOS and Windows. However, I normally create them on iOS then copy them to macOS and Windows. Are you sure you’ve placed them in the correct folders on macOS and iOS? They need to be copied to the main djay folder not the User Data sub-folder.
MIDI maps created using DJ Teck Tools on a Mac can be imported into Windows without any problems.
However, I was unable to confirm that MIDI maps created in the Windows version could be imported into a Mac.
I save them in the folder created when I duplicated the MIDI file in Djay.
So I think the location is correct.
Thanks to Djay’s excellent mapping function, remapping my controllers is quick and easy, but I encounter problems when I want to use a MIDI map of a controller that I previously mapped at a store.
Since Slak Jaw can do it, I’m probably doing something wrong.
Looking forward to hearing back on this. If I get time later today, I’ll try creating a new mapping on Windows first then copying it over to iOS to confirm.
I tried loading the MIDI map created on Windows into the Mac version. It seems it isn’t being recognized after all. For clarity, I used a DENON DN-HC1000S, which is not supported by djay.
Thanks for confirming @megamema. I just tested this myself from Windows to iOS and can confirm, that djay for iOS is not recognizing the mapping. I have done this in reverse though from iOS to Windows. I will share this with our engineering team to see what they have to say…
I thought this had been the specification since version 5.0. Therefore, if anyone knows a way to easily convert them by modifying the XML description, I would appreciate your advice.
Hi again @megamema, our engineering team has identified the issue and is working on a fix which should be included in an upcoming update (likely 5.6.4). Thanks!
