6 hour shifts outdoor party - djay pro - flawless

Hi all, just wanted to share that I did a 6 hour outdoor event last Saturday with Pioneer Rev 5 and Djay Pro 5.2 . First part of the night 2 hours was an auto mix playlist and second half mixing it up, with cross fader fx - eq and using stems here and there. No glitches at all, great party vibe. Also had swarm wash fx bolted on top of speaker. Really lit up the garden and out buildings lovely. Great night.

Pioneer Rev 5. Really well mapped out the box.

Yeah, you wrote that. But I meant which device did you use to run Djay (iPhone, iPad, Mac, PC)?

Ahh sorry about that. iPad Pro 12.9 5th edition.

That’s a super valid point to be made and is definitely a testament to their close work with Apple all these years. Props to the Algoriddim team for such a well optimized program!

Its amazing how well optimzied Djay is for mac products. Really makes me want to break up with Rekordbox (great for library / CDJ export) and Serato (for open format / compatibility with devices with external screens).

Really hope Algoriddm gets more access to devices screens and works on more robust library management!

glad to hear you guys have a great experiments on Ipad, but i would love to try on Iphone ( mine is IP 13 ). Have anyone try out on the iphone for such event more than 2hours ?

I’ve done a 6-hour gig with an iPhone 12 (after I forgot to put my laptop in my bag). I started the gig on the iPhone 12 and by the time a friend brought the Macbook, I didn’t see any need to switch. Like the OP noted, performance was flawless.

On the other hand, I’ve done events where the Macbook was overheating and I had to use a large floor fan to keep it cool.

Moral of the story - yes you can, but help the iPhone/iPads/Macbook stay cool when the weather is hot & humid.

thanks for the clarify bro, i’ll try on my side here , my set usually only 2hr5 long . how about the audio output compare to the macbook ? And please if i might ask, which DJ Equipment you connect to ? Mine is Reloop Mixtour Pro or maybe later i will mapping it to the Opus Quad ( the venue set up )

Audio output is the same between iPhone, iPad and MacBook. The equipment you use affects sound quality the most. I think CDJ/XDJ has the best sound, followed by higher-end Allen & Heath mixers. But most audiences will not hear the quality difference between controllers.

With iPhone, I’ve DJ’d on FLX4, Original Mixtour, Denon MC4000 and CDJ/XDJ (not DVS). Just received Mixtour Pro, but haven’t connected iPhone yet.
