I just started messing with djay Pro and mostly, I love it. I do wish automix worked in external mixer mode on the Rane Four. That’s one thing keeping me from fully switching.
Also, music management is confusing. Under Playlists, there’s the Music playlist with the music note icon and that is empty unless you drag songs into it. (Is that what I’m supposed to do to add new songs?) In “Settings/Library/Import” you can add a folder that it says “Automatically import new files added to the following folders into My Collection” … well, this appears to do nothing unless I’m missing something. Plus, there is no “My Collection” folder anywhere that I can see… maybe this is an iOS thing and not MacOS? And, the only way that playlists or smart playlists work is if the songs are in the Music playlist folder first. It doesn’t pull them from folders I add when I click the + in the “My Files” section, which is why I was asking if any songs I want to appear in smart playlists need to first be dragged into the “Music” playlist.
Finally, when I make a custom playlist for a wedding where I’m dragging in songs in order, it’s cool unless I go into a different playlist and sort by Artist for example, then my custom playlist is re-ordered by artist. How can I go back to the order that I dragged the songs in?
