Add Adjustable Beat Length to Flanger FX

Hey,

I love the Flanger FX(s) but I note you can’t change the beat range for the peak and trough for the Flange effect you want to generate.

I’m a lover of the 8 Bar Flange out of Traktor, as a House DJ.

The baked-in Flange effect in Djay Pro over 2 bars sounds really twee and makes me cringe.

Could you please consider either letting adjust the beat length of that effect, or provide a 32 beat variant?

The 8 Bar Flange is part of my signature House sound, so without it in Djay Pro I struggle to fully “identify” with my sets in this software (over 10 years in Traktor)

yes! this also goes for autofilter, phaser and all moving fx - and more than a two bar movement is crucial for any sophistication here, totally agree - 2 bars usually sounds cringe :slight_smile:
since this just mentions flanger i created a new post with the mentions above plus including another suggestion for adjusting automatic movement of fx parameter and D/W.

Hey @Slak_Jaw,

Given the amount of work done on FX in recent months for Djay Pro, do you know if this feature request is being looked at, at all?

An 8 beat Flanger is just unusable, and a Flanger is one of the primary FX that most DJs may use.

Please can we get an update on the possibility of an 8 bar (and adjustable) length Flanger effect?

It’s one of the only things stopping me from mimicking my DJ style on Traktor and Recordbox.

At present I can’t use Flanger at all and I really miss it in my DJ workflow…

Hi @Slak_Jaw ,

Just adding a bump to this request please. Having an adjustable bar length for the Flanger effect is bread and butter stuff for every other piece of DJ equipment going, but it’s really hurting my DJ mixes not being able to use an 8 Bar Flange in Djay Pro.

I’m really appreciative of all the amazing work going into Djay Pro for all the new features and so on, but this is something that the community is directly asking for, so in many ways will make a real difference to us.

Would it be possible to nudge/ask/beg the Devs to take a look into this please?

I also think it would be really great to have a flanger effect that is adjustable in his length.

How many people must say the same thing for the developers to listen to what users want? By the way, I think the old version of Djay had this function, and now you can control the flanger only with a slider. But when you control it with a slider in manual mode, you don’t know whether the flanger is precisely in 1/16 or 1/4 mode.
