Add Neural Mix to Apple Music Streaming

Algoriddims own.

As Apple Music was my main reason for even trying out djay pro, or even getting interested in djaying tbh, I’d also love to use neural mix with djay pro.

Considering the next best option is to pay for something like tidal, my closest workaround is paying one of these apple music converter sites a small fee to reoutput my playlists to a file format that will allow djay pro to use neural mix.

I’m not sure of the rules about posting links to sites like that but their sites say it’s legal and it 100% works.

Share link to your playlist to the site. Download your music from the site. Re-add to your itunes. Go into djay pro and go to local music and the playlist you just updated and neural mix will work.

Apologies if there’s a better thread to discuss the potential for Neural Mix to work with Apple Music. Looking like Apple is wanting to compete with Tidal in the DJ space more and more, and for them to be a viable competitor they will need to find a way to allow Neural Mix. Fingers crossed! :crossed_fingers:

Even for beginner DJ’s using neural mix is just more fun although having access to the Apple Music library, especially if you’re already paying for Apple Music, is a game changer.

“Curated playlists”.
Wow! Total gamechanger that one.

Thanks

Hi @DJKamyR, I’m doing great thanks! How are you? Nerual Mix is not currently available with Apple Music Streaming. When that changes, I will definitely post the news here.

Bonsoir,

Cordialement

Good evening,

For licensing reasons, Neural Mix is unavailable with Apple Music. This is truly a shame. Will there be any changes?

I won’t use DJay if I can’t use Neural Mix with my Apple Music library.

Could you tell me more about this?

Sincerely,

I just subscribed to djay Pro with Apple Music and was disappointed to see that the Neural Mix option isn’t included with Apple Music streaming. I primarily purchased djay Pro and Apple Music to use the Neural Mix option when mixing music. When I download songs and use them from files, after a few hours of use, a disclaimer appears saying “couldn’t charge song, operation not permitted.” So, I think since I’m already subscribed to Djay Pro and Neural Mix is part of that experience, it should at least be compatible with Apple Music streaming. I’ll be waiting for Algoridim response.

Support for Neural Mix needs to be approved by the streaming service provider and is beyond our control. I recommend that you reach out to Apple Music Streaming support and express your desire to allow STEMs separation.

Regarding purchased music through iTunes or the Music App, these songs can be used with Neural Mix, but the mp3 files must be properly added to your device and played via the Local Music or Files source. I hope that helps!

It would be really nice indeed. Even if it had to have some restrictions such as being able to remove them only a few seconds or only ability to remove one or two parts at a time.

Thanks for the additional feedback @jayneural

Apple Music allows to upload my own music files. These have nothing to do with Apple licensing - AM merely serves as storage similar to Dropbox or iCloud Drive. Why doesn’t Neural Mix work with these at least?

(Should also work for songs with status “Matched” as these were uploaded but then matched to the identical song on AM.)

Hi @mbirth, welcome to the Community! If you use the Local Music source in djay for your purchased iTunes/Music app files you can indeed use Neural Mix. However, this is not currently supported with the Apple Music Streaming source in djay.
