Add Traditional Key Display Options and Cent-Level Pitch Adj

Context: I previously submitted this feedback through support ticket #255277, but I am also posting it here to see whether other users resonate with these concerns and would benefit from these features as well.

Suggestion 1: Add Traditional Musical Key Display Options

The current key display in djay Pro feels limited because it relies heavily on the Camelot Wheel. I understand why Camelot notation is useful for harmonic mixing, but it should not be the only practical way to view a track’s key.

I have perfect pitch, so I recognize musical keys immediately. It is faster and more intuitive for me to organize and select music using keys such as C-sharp minor, D major, or F minor instead of translating everything through Camelot notation.

Please consider adding a setting that allows users to choose between:

  • Traditional musical keys

  • Camelot notation

  • Both formats displayed together

This would make djay Pro more useful for musicians, producers, classically trained users, and DJs who already think in standard musical keys.

Suggestion 2: Add Cent-Level Pitch Adjustment

djay Pro currently allows users to change a track’s key only in semitone increments. There does not appear to be a way to fine-tune the pitch in cents.

Not every recording is tuned precisely to A = 440 Hz. Two songs may be listed in the same or compatible keys but still sound noticeably out of tune when mixed together. Adjusting a track by an entire semitone is too large of a change for these smaller tuning differences.

Please consider adding a cent-level pitch adjustment that can be saved or remembered for each track. This would allow a DJ to correct the tuning once and have djay Pro automatically apply that adjustment whenever the song is loaded again.

Current Workflow

To properly tune a song that is slightly sharp or flat, I currently have to:

  1. Open the song in another application.

  2. Adjust the pitch in cents.

  3. Export a new version of the audio file.

  4. Load the modified file into djay Pro.

This takes additional preparation time, creates duplicate files, and interrupts an otherwise streamlined DJ workflow. Fine pitch adjustment should already be available within djay Pro so users do not have to rely on outside software for a basic tuning correction.

These suggestions are intended to improve usability for DJs and musicians who rely on accurate harmonic mixing and efficient library management. I believe both features would make djay Pro more flexible while accommodating different workflows without changing the experience for users who prefer the current implementation.

Awesome! That doesn’t address the second feature request though.
