Adding Beatport tracks to playlist on iPhone app is painful

NOTE: Please use the search function above before posting to avoid creating duplicate topics.

  • Anyone else find adding Beatport tracks to playlists incredibly buggy? 90% of the time it just hangs up and doesn’t give me any indication that the song is being/has been added. I only find out it added when I go back and try to re-add the track and get hit with the “there are duplicates being added to the playlist” popup. Adding tracks to my Soundcloud playlists works flawlessly so definitely seems specific to Beatport. I can’t be the only one.Device model (e.g. 2020 iPad Air 4th Gen):

Thanks for the setup details and video @mikeylegs91. I just tested this on djay 5.6.8, iPhone 15 Pro Max and iOS 26.6 and everything is working as expected for me.

  1. Which Beatport subscription tier do you have?
  2. Please try logging out of Beatport from within djay and any standalone Beatport Apps and browsers
  3. Close djay, and download the latest 5.6.8 version from the official App Store.
  4. Follow the procedure below to perform a Forced Restart of your iPhone: Force restart iPhone - Apple Support (CA)
  5. Disable any VPNs on your device.
  6. Launch djay and only log into Beatport with djay.
  7. Retest, and let me know if the issue persists.

Beatport Advanced Plan.

Just updated to Djay 5.6.8.

Followed all the steps you laid out and the issue still persists. This has been a very longstanding problem for me.

Thanks for the additional info @mikeylegs91. I have some more follow up questions for you:

  1. After one of these hangs, does the track show up in that playlist at dj.beatport.com in a browser?
  2. Any difference between cellular and Wi-Fi?
  3. Does it fail on newly created Beatport playlists as well as existing ones?
  4. Single-track adds only, or also bulk “add all”?
  5. How large is the target playlist? (Worth testing an empty one).
  6. Does the hang clear on its own if you wait 30–60s without tapping anything?
  7. So you have a Mac/iPad you can test with the same Beatport account?
  8. Is the Beatport Offline Library enabled, and are any of these tracks in it?
  9. If you add these Beatport songs to a My Collection playlist instead, do you experience the same hang?

Hello! It’s been a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!
