ANNOUNCEMENT: djay 5.6.9 for macOS/iOS/Windows/Android

Hello everyone! We’re happy to share our latest djay update. It should be rolling out to the various apps stores in the next 24-48 hours.

NEW:

  • RANE System One integration, including native display support (requires Engine OS 5.2.0) (macOS, Windows, iOS)
  • All-new desktop experience for Googlebook and Chromebook devices (Android)
  • Added MIDI actions to change beat jump duration

IMPROVED/FIXED:

  • Improved media library playlist presentation on CDJs (macOS, Windows)
  • Improved support for 45 RPM with motorized controllers
  • Improved cue point jumping on motorized controllers while scratching and during platter spin-down
  • Fixed toggling reverse playback with motorized controllers affecting pitch
  • Fixed Explorer source not showing BPM tags from files (Windows)

We confirmed with RANE that the System One Engine OS update (v5.2.0) should already be available inside the unit as an over-the-air update. They are working on updating their website with the download and release notes as well.

If you select the Rane SYSTEM ONE in the dropdown menu, you should be able to access the v5.2.0 download:

I updated djay to 5.6.9 and RS1 EngineOS to 5.2.0, however Djay isn’t recognizing the RS1 and I’m not able to see or select Djay under the RS1’s source menu.

This looks awesome.

Anyone know if there are any new mappings for the playlist buttons that are on the Rane One that will be available to everyone else? I mean the 3 (A,B,C) playlist buttons that are on the top right of the jogwheel, which would automatically take you to a pre-assigned playlist.

I’m a little jealous now since I’ve got the Rane Performer. An Ipad with that would be great, but I’m aware of the practicalities. Good work though.

Hi @echa0361, from my research, it doesn’t appear that ChromeOS Flex supports the Play Store. If this is true, then djay won’t be supported as it requires access to the Play Store.

@Sergio_Tenedero, Spotify has been available on Android and iOS mobile devices since djay 5.6 which was released in December of last year.

@Slak_Jaw I bought my license via Microsoft Store. I have 2 questions 1) how can I find my current version (‘About’ in settings shows a lot of infor but not the app version - why??) and 2) how do updates work? Are they pushed or do I need to check myself?
