šŸ“£ ANNOUNCEMENT: djay version 5.3 for macOS/iOS/Android and djay version 5.3.2752.0 for Windows

Hi @Jaroslaw_Szkudlarek, I see that you created a separate topic for this. Let’s continue the discussion over there.

NOTICE / REMINDER:

  • Just a friendly reminder everyone.
  • If you encounter any bugs, issues or have a detailed question about this release, please do NOT post them here because they could get lost in this general discussion.
  • Please post them in an existing related topic or create a new topic if necessary so we can have a focused discussion there and don’t miss anything important.

Thanks!

Same. The only thing I’m thinking about is possibly picking up a dj2go2 because it could also control decks 3/4 and not take up a lot of space but also has jog dials

I’m having the same problem.

Niiice one Owe, The SP2 is a great hatdware:)

Buenas el neural mix crossfader estƔ disponibles en todos los Max o solo para los mƔs modernos

You can save your custom mapping profiles and this allows you to try new workflows. You can then revert back to your favourite.

echo out works on how your grids are scructured, I dont have an issue, I think echo out works, the only issue is when you trigger the effect. thats my issue. my timing is off.

I agree, I backed up my mapping profiles too.

A post was split to a new topic: Echo Stem Issue

Is this apart of the iOS update as well? If so, thank y’all! Sometimes the track info is long and I haven’t been able to fully read what I’m loading in. This makes a huge difference!!

Hi everyone,

We’re happy to announce that djay for Android v5.3 is now rolling out! As @Slak_Jaw shared, this update includes new features and improvements we’re really excited about.

Due to the vast amount of different Android based devices on the market we want to make sure the update reaches everyone smoothly, so v5.3 is being released gradually across all devices.

If you don’t see it yet, not to worry — it’ll be on your device soon.

Thanks so much for your patience and continued support!

Yes @djsunkisst, please see the release note below:

Media Library

  • Extended song info popup with full track title and artist, advanced metadata, and option to analyze individual tracks (iOS)

Ah yes I see now, I missed that the first time. Very very nice!

Which new workflows? That’s exactly the point, you don’t even know what’s different in the new mapping, which button or knob now triggers something different than before. You can of course try to find out by trial and error, but that’s more of a game of chance.

Hi @Slak_Jaw
Remember you saying you have a Mixon 8 pro

With the new update I’ve noticed the gain control on my individual channels doesn’t move when I move the gain on the M8 Pro, do you get this? Volume increases but the software doesn’t move the visual

Also on an iPad or phone you can’t reposition the cue points, this seems to be on Windows Pc or i presume a Mac only, is this correct?

Not had chance to fully look at the features yet but the update on the face of it seems amazing

Well done Algoriddim

It’s not a game of chance at all. You can easily create your own mappings. Most of the functions can be mapped. There are plenty of guides on how to do this but it really is self explanatory if you just take a few minutes getting to know the software. Go and have look in your software settings and thank me later. :face_blowing_a_kiss:

You misunderstood me. I know how mapping works, I’ve been doing it extensively for years. But that’s not the point at all.

I’ll try to clarify my question again: According to the changelog, the update to Djay 5.3 includes, for example, ā€œimproved mappingsā€ for some controllers - whatever that actually means. As a user, I would of course like to know whether these changes will benefit me. However, if I use this new integrated mapping, I (temporarily) lose my own modifications and can only find out what has changed compared to the original mapping by trying it out - a game of chance.

If you have any other ideas on how to find out what has changed, I’d be happy to hear from you - and then thank you

You can of course save your modified mapping which is what I do regularly. Then you haven’t lost all your work. Stock mappings are always pretty much ok but if you’re like me I always tweak them to my needs.

I do that too, certainly more than many others. But it would be good to know which changes Algoriddim has added to the integrated mappings. Only then can you make a sensible decision as to whether it is worth using the new mapping and perhaps investing a lot of time in adapting it again to your own wishes, or leaving everything as it is - and perhaps foregoing useful changes that you don’t even know exist.
