[Bug Report] App Crashes When Scrolling Through Multiple Smart Playlists with Large Library**

Hi team,

I’ve encountered a consistent crash issue when working with multiple Smart Playlists in djay Pro.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. I’ve created a large number of Smart Playlists organized by BPM ranges (e.g., 68–72, 73–77, 78–82, etc.).

  2. My music library includes 30,000+ local tracks, plus Tidal and SoundCloud integration.

  3. When scrolling through the list of Smart Playlists — especially quickly, jumping from one playlist to another — djay Pro begins to lag significantly and then crashes. Load time is also very long.

It seems the problem becomes more likely the larger the library is, and the more Smart Playlists are loaded.

Additional Note:

The crash typically occurs when quickly navigating from one Smart Playlist to the next (e.g., from 68–72 directly to 73–77, and so on), before the previous playlist has fully loaded.

Please let me know if there’s any way to optimize this or if I can provide logs to help track the issue. I’d really love to keep using Smart Playlists this way, as they’re extremely useful for BPM-based organization.

  2. In the top left corner of your screen, click on the portion of the menu bar that says “djay Pro”.
  3. In the drop-down menu, click on the button that says “Provide djay Pro Feedback”.
  4. Fill out the submission form that will pop up in your default browser and title your email "ATTN: MARIE – “The Title of your Community Topic” in the provided subject line.

I just wanted to re-open this to see if anything came of it? As of the latest release the problem still seems to exist. I have almost 60,000 tracks and the majorty of my collection is tagged and I create smart lists to help categorise them.

When moving quickly, also from smart list to smart list, djay lags like crazy, giving me the spinning wheel of doom. Sometimes it crashes, sometimes not. It would be nice if DJAY could cache the smart list so it wouldn’t lag and display quickly like a regular list.

Not really sure what the answer is. In rekordbox this isn’t an issue so they’ve cracked it somehow.
