a way in which to deal with the issue of the mic causing the stuttering, is to run the mic through another application which has a mute on/off, thereby bypassing any system interrupts
the mic ideally would be left always on, but the output is zero, by bringing the output level up is completely different to a microphone being connected and reconnected…
which is the likely cause of the stuttering
of course if one prefers to wait for developers to do something, thats a choice
