Audio issue with booth output and Inpulse T7

Device Model (ex. 2020 iPad Air 4th Gen): Macbook Air M1
Version of operating system (ex. iOS 17.3.1): 15.2
Version of djay (ex. 5.1.3): 5.2.8
Hardware/controllers used (ex. Reloop Ready): Hercules Inpulse T7
Hardware Firmware Version: 1.87

Summary of the issue:
I am trying to stream with OBS and I route the sound using a virtual audio device. I set the booth output to ZoomAudioDevice.
It works but I get frequent audio distortions that last ~20s every ~10minutes.
Most of the times it happens during mixing 2 tracks.

How to reproduce the issue:

  • Set the main output to inpulse t7
  • Set the booth output to another virtual audio device
  • Capture the virtual audio device

I have attached a screenshot of the midi setup in macos (the aggregate device that is automatically created from djay). I have also tried different virtual audio devices such as blackhole with no luck.

Thanks.

Hi @spacemand, thanks for the details about your setup and the screenshots. This is very helpful!

  1. Try disabling “Drift Correction” for one or both devices that are being aggregated.
  2. Try adjusting the sample rate of the aggregate device.
  3. Try changing the “clock source” of the aggregate device.

I hope that helps!

Thank you @Slak_Jaw !
I will test them (it may take a while) and report if something worked.

You’re welcome @spacemand. Please report back if this solves your issue.

Changing the clock source (to the virtual audio device) seems to be working without any issues.

Excellent. Thanks for the follow up @spacemand
