Autocue function on Pioneer CDJs

Hi, I am using a DJM 900 Nexus, 2 CDJ 900 Nexus, and Apple Mac with DJay Pro and was wondering if the auto cue function can work on the CDJ 900 Nexus (I am unable to get it to). When not mixing is it possible to listen to music tracks continuously without it stopping/auto cue’ing at the end of each tune when I turn this function off on the CDJ? Thanks.

Hi @Zippymoonflower, welcome to the Community!
It sounds like you are referring to two things here, so
I’d like to confirm:

  1. The CDJ has a feature called auto-cue which can be activated and deactivated by holding down the ‘Time mode / Auto cue’ button for a few seconds. When auto-cue is set and you browse through the tracklisting, the CDJ will find the first beat of the bar and set the cue point on it. Is this what you are referring to?
  2. Regarding the second part, are you referring to djay’s behavior to jump back to the beginning (“auto cue”) when reaching the end of the song? It sounds like you want playback to either continue in silence past the end of the track, or for the next song to automatically load. Please confirm. Thanks!

Hi Slak Jaw, thanks for replying. In answer, I would like for the next tune on the playlist within Djay Pro on my Mac to start playing if auto cue is not active on the CDJ 900 Nexus. I hope this makes sense. Cheers. :+1:

This is how the function on the CDJ 900 Nexus works normally without Djay Pro btw. Thanks again.

You’re welcome @Zippymoonflower. Thanks for the clarification! I will share this with the dev team.

Thanks again Slak, hopefully if this can be fixed it will be an easy one for the dev team. :facepunch:

You’re welcome @Zippymoonflower. Is this default behavior on CDJ or do you have to activate it?

Hi, it’s a button on the CDJ called autocue/time mode. To change the time mode (the CDJ will displays either the countdown or count up in seconds to the end of a track) you tap the button and to activate/deactivate autocue, you hold the button down.

The default is autocue always on when powering up the CDJ. Thanks @Slak_Jaw

You’re welcome @Zippymoonflower. Thanks for the additional info. I have shared this with the dev team for further consideration. Thanks again!
