Automix issues after iPad OS upgrade

Summary of the issue:
After upgrading to the latest version of OS on my iPad, Automix runs into issues when the screen turns off. It will start looping the current song playing or the volume will cut off and high pitched sounds will occur.
Once you turn the screen back on and select the next song in the mix it stops but only if the screen stays on. This did not happen before, and does not happen on my iMac or iPhone.
Please advise if this issue will be fixed.

Thanks for the video @SC2200. That’s very helpful. I’ve never seen this before. Are you using Local Music stored on device or a streaming service?

I’m using my locally stored Itunes music. I also tried wiping the device completely, reinstalling the OS and Djay app but the problem was still there.
I have the same music/playlists on my Iphone and IMac with no issues? All I can think of is there is a bug with the new OS version for IPad and Djay Pro?

Are there any updates on this issue?
I’ve confirmed that this is also happening when streaming music or just playing any song on either deck. Once the iPad screen turns off the issue occurs.

Hi @SC2200, unfortunately, our engineering team has still not been able to replicate this issue on their end. Are there any other things you can think of that might be contributing to the issue that could help us replicate it?

I’ll I can think of is I started putting all my iTunes playlists in folders but I have the same setup on my iMac and iPhone?

I had some time to look into this issue further and may have found out the cause but no solution.
I narrowed it down to the Neural Mix transition option in Automix on my iPad. Both my Iphone and Imac do not have the Neural Mix for transition option which is probably why I have no issues on those devices.
I normally have Automatic selected in Automix and when it uses the Neural Mix to transition songs thats when I get those issues. Once I switch it to any of the other transitions, Filter, Fade, Riser etc. no issues occur.
Its very strange, as this used to work before on my iPad, again all I can think of is there is a bug with the latest version of IOS?
Please let me know if this helps in any way to get a solution to this problem. I should be able to use Neural Mix option for transitioning songs in Automix, like I did before.

Hi, I have exact Same issue. My specs are similar - IPad Pro 11.1 2nd Generation IpadOs 18.2 Djay Pro 5.2.8
To reproduce the issue you just need to start Automix from any Streaming Service and Turn off Display. After a couple of minutes you will experience high pitch Sound or Strange Loop. On Bestport it comes very fast, on TIDAL it took a bit longer, 3 or 4 Transition, but it always ends up with described issues
