Hello Team,
- Device model (iPad Pro 13-inch (M4):
- Version of operating system (iPadOS 17.6.1):
- Version of djay (5.2.3):
- Hardware/controllers used (none):
Summary of the issue:
Automix doesn’t work after latest update.
How to reproduce the issue:
Start Automix.
Have a great day
Hi @LaidbackFred, can you please try to capture a video of the issue, upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to the video here? I have the same iPad hardware and software versions as you and Automix is working as expect. Thanks!
EDIT: what music source(s) are you using for Automix?
I have also tested it with iOS 18.0 and all music sources (djay Music, Tidal, SoundCloud, Beatport, Beatsource, Local Music and Files). Everything is working fine for me.
Can you please provide more details about what isn’t working and what music source, file types and where your music is stored (on iPad internal drive, external drive, etc.)? Thanks!
Hey @Slak_Jaw
I can upload a video if I must.
At the moment that is a huge inconvenience.
I only have LOCAL music,
No external Hard drives.
Either uploaded or purchased through iTunes.
It just acts as if Automix isn’t even on when it approaches the END Cue.
iPhone iOS is not affected.
Both devices syncing with iTunes.
Note. iPad has 2Tb hard.
Hi @LaidbackFred, thanks for the additional details. However, without more information it will be difficult for me to help you troubleshoot this further. If you can’t share a video, please share some screenshots of your Automix Settings. Thanks!
But you have a record feature on your iOS devices.
Hey @Dysfunk_DJ
I don’t have google drive nor dropbox
Maybe you could upload to YouTube and copy link. It’s not that hard to do. My auto mix works as should. If you’re having issues I’d try and get a video done to help the engineers and also ultimately help you.

Hi again @LaidbackFred, without knowing more, I can suggest the following 2 options:
- Please close djay and follow the procedure linked below to perform a Forced Restart of your iOS device:
- iPhone: Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
- iPad: https://support.apple.com/guide/ipad/force-restart-ipad-ipad9955c007/ipadost
If that doesn’t fix the issue you’re having with Automix, then I suggest that you backup your djay Media Library database and any custom MIDI mappings, then uninstall djay, reboot your device, and reinstall the latest version of djay. You can find the files above in the following locations:
-
iOS: using the Files App, navigate to Locations->On My iPhone/iPad->djay->User Data
-
macOS: https://help.algoriddim.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014912211-Where-does-djay-Pro-store-playlists-cue-points-and-other-data-on-my-Mac
-
Windows: https://help.algoriddim.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014912131-Where-does-djay-Pro-store-cue-points-and-other-metadata
- Copy the files to a new location or external drive before uninstalling djay. After reinstallation, you can simply copy these files back to their original locations to maintain your Hot Cues, Saved Loops, My Collection Playlists, History and Queue.
I hope that helps!
Hey Everyone,
Who ever thought a reboot would take care of things.
My rule has always been;
When in doubt, REBOOT.
Of course I forgot about my own rule🤗
Sorry for wasting precious time.
Thanks everyone. SOLVED!
