Your question:
Hello.
I am trying to use automix without any transition. I set start and endpoints to my files and want automix to mix them without any gap or transition. So when track 1 is at the endpoint track 2 should start immediately at its start point.
I set automix transition time manually to 0 seconds for transition und checked using my start and endpoints.
What happens is, that when endpoint of track 1 is reached it will play the track 2-3 bars further over the endpoint and track 2 will start also some bars to late. So the hard cut between the tracks is always a little to late.
I hope you understand the problem. It’s the same on iMac late 2023 and iPhone 15 Pro. So it is not a hardware issue, but software problem or I have to change any setting for automix.
Any idea?
Thanks a lot.
Jens
Hi @jenskaemmerer, I tested this myself and confirm the behavior you are describing. I’m going to double check with our engineering team to see if they have any suggestions. In the meantime,
- you might want to try turning Keylock OFF as this should reduce overall system latency,
- make sure you are not using Neural Mix transition types as these are more processing intensive,
- also make sure that the Crossfader FX are turned OFF.
Hi. Thanks for reply and your tipps. Everything is turned off, but there still is that latency. Let’s see what the engineering team will say to this. I also figured out, that even when the transition duration is set to 4 or 8 bars (more than 0) there is still this latency in transition. So it has nothing to do with the duration…
Thanks for the additional info @jenskaemmerer. I’ve passed this onto engineering.
Hi again @jenskaemmerer, in the Automix settings under Tempo Adjust do you have this set to Off?
Hi. No it is set to on to get a constant mix at 124bpm
Hi @jenskaemmerer, please try setting it to Off to see if that helps. Thanks!
Hi. when tempo adjust is set to off, then latency gets down to aprox. 1 bar delay. When it is set to sync delay is mostly 2 bars. So without sync it gets a bit better.
But latency is still there.
Thanks for the additional details @jenskaemmerer. I’ve shared this with the engineering team.
