YOUR SUGGESTION:

  1. Hi, when its on Full Screen, Djay on mac only shows time, would be nice to have a battery meter next to it so we know our battery level with a glance

thank you

Thanks for the suggestion @echa0361. On my Mac, if I leave the cursor near the top of the screen it shows the battery level even when in full screen mode.

yep agreed, still would still be nice if i can just take a glance and know right from the software

Your battery level shouldn’t be of concern because you should always have power running to your computer when DJing, especially if it’s a live performance or paid gig.

Running power to the computer also helps it run more efficiently with regards to CPU and GPU.

I’ve passed this onto our devs for consideration @echa0361

Yes I agree, and lots of little things like this can soon add up to more clutter on the screen. I guess a way around it would be to have an option in the menu that toggles the battery meter on or off but I do think this is unnecessary.

Thanks for the input @SamJam

Serato has it visible top right so I guess that could be an option. Although the Djay UI is a lot busier than Serato so it might not work as well.

Truth be told we need way more hardware with USB-C PD, then the conversation becomes a moot point. The Reloop Flux has shown me what the DJ world should look like, single cable connection with nothing to worry about.

Thanks @STU-C

It’s true, but it can happen that the power supply disconnects without you noticing, perhaps in the chaos of people on the console. If you’re in full screen, you can’t see the battery level.

Thanks for the additional input @Screma

Can’t disagree with that, I once forgot to plug mine in. My comment was more aimed at the trend to try and run everything on battery power, it’s a fairly common thing these days and can only end one way.

Agreed though, info on front UI is definitely useful.

In that case your Mac will show you multiple warnings before the battery dies.

It’s true, but I repeat, why have to wait for the Mac to go into energy reserve, with all the possible problems of the case, just because there is no icon next to the djpro logo that indicates the state of the battery?

Then, there are battery-powered PCs that work differently, exploiting energy resources differently, and this can create problems in the evening.

all of this are valid responses, the request is not an urgent issue, but something that surely help a certain type of playing

i myself never had an issue with playing on battery, maybe its not the good way of doing things, but it what works for me , and having to be able to take a glance of my battery level without having to touch my laptop would be nice

Fyi this is how my djay is setup, not cluttered for me, a small battery meter would certainly do good for me
