Beat Grid - Highlighting bar loops - identifying (cue) positions

Hi Team,

I hope you’re well.

I was wondering if it would be possible to implement a feature that allows users to highlight or bold specific bars on the grid at regular intervals, such as every 4th or 8th bar. For instance, it would be very useful if bar numbered 5, 9, and 13 (in a 4-bar or 8-bar loop) could be automatically emphasised in some way—perhaps through bold numbering, a different colour, or another form of visual cue. This would help with quickly identifying key(cue) positions within the timeline during the mix process.

Would it be feasible to add this functionality, or is there a workaround that could achieve a similar result?

Thanks for considering this, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Best regards,
Mista Cee

I’m not sure if this helps, but over time, I started using these exact numbers as key points. just them numbers - 5, 9 and 13

maybe an ability to color mark the line separators between every 32/16 beats coud be easily implemented, doesn’t seem to be big of an issue. good idea.

Hi @Mista_Cee,

Thanks for sharing in our community!

While there isn’t a feature exactly like this in djay we’d be happy to hear from our other community members as to their thoughts on the topic as well.

For this reason, we’ll be passing this along to our engineering team as a feature request and then setting your post in the suggestions category so that others can vote on it.

Thanks so much!
