Beatsource login issue - Chromebook

Hi guys- when I try to log in to beatsource on djay algorridm it says- “liscence update failed.”
Any ideas?

  1. Are you using a VPN or proxy on your laptop? If so, please try disabling it.
  2. Are you able to log into your Beatsource account via a browser outside of djay?

1.Sorry- what’s a VPN or Proxy?
2.Yes- I can log in easily on a browser such as google.

Thanks for the additional info @alexrider, please try the following:

  1. Log out of Beatsource from within djay
  2. Log out of Beatsource from all stand alone apps and browsers
  3. Close djay and reboot your laptop
  4. Update to the latest version of djay that was just released today.
  5. Launch djay and log into your Beatsource account only inside of djay.

Done this but after updating djay it completely stopped responding- every button i press does nothing. What do you think?

Your DDJ-200 is not responding? Do the onscreen controls in djay work via mouse/touchpad?

No- the onscreen controls don’t work

Have you tried restarting your laptop?

Yup- rebooted it and uninstalled and reinstalled djay.

Thanks for the additional info @alexrider. I just checked with our engineering team and apparently there is a known issue with trackpads specifically on Chromebooks. The underlying issue has been resolved in a 3rd party component, and we should be able to have this fixed with our 5.3 update.

Does your device have a touchscreen? If so, can you see if the touchscreen controls work? Also, do you have another device like a phone or tablet that you can use in the meantime?

Nope- no touchscreen. I can use rekordbox in the meantime- not ideal but oh well. How long before the 5.3 update?

Okay, that’s too bad. Do you have an iOS, macOS or Android device? Your single djay subscription allows you to use it cross-platform. We do not have a timeline for 5.3, but I will share the release here when available.

Hi, do you think a bluetooth mouse would work?
I mean would it be able to resolve the problem with trackpads

Hi @alexrider, I think a wired or wireless mouse should.

I have tried three mouses, wired and wireless and none of them work. Will it be fixed come next update?

Hi @alexrider, sorry to hear that didn’t work. Thanks for letting me know. This fix should be included in the 5.3 update, but we do not have a timeline for the release yet. I’ll let you know as soon as I have more info though.
