Your question:

what is the best to use w djay on the mac, best of the best

i like 2 decks, i use stems, something w cool lights an effects on it too

The new generation of midrange controllers seems to work the best for Djay right now as they incorporate the latest features that the software has to offer.

The ‘High End’ controllers are a mixed bag right now especially the ones with screens on them. For example, some are mapped pretty well like the pioneer Flx10 but jog wheel screens don’t work.

You should take a look at the grv 6 from pioneer. Hope this helps

If 2 decks is all you need, take a look at the pioneer rev 5. Solid build quality, great jogs and made for stems.

Install DJ on your device and go into a music store and test run some of the equipment. Personaly I have been using a Rane One almost every weekend since it was released and it has never let me down. There is a MK2 model coming soon.

There is no universal answer to this question. For some, it may be about as many functions as possible, for others it is about maximum portability - and therefore completely different devices and price ranges.

hi slak jaw, the ddj flx4 on their website if you looks says not w djay pro but on the link it says it does. can you take a look? both ends are saying opposite things

Our list is accurate. The FLX4 is supported for djay on macOS.

Don’t you mean the Rane performer?

The Rane One is not the controller for you on this platform.

The unit is mapped wonderfully and operates as it should. I DJ 3-4 nights a week and it is a joy to work on.

@Wyley both the RANE One and Performer are supported on macOS

Sorry, I was trying to get across that that Rane one can work on iOS while the Rane performer only can work on desktops/laptops.

The Rane one is mapped very well to Djay but it’s mapped for controllerists. People from a turntable background are not fulfilled with it right now

As a professional DJ begining in 1990s and having experience on all equipment I respectfully and strongly disagree.

I would wait for Rane One MK2 as it’s due out this summer.

do you get paid to DJ 3 to 4 times a week and how did you find clients or vendors that wanted you to DJ?

do you know why their website says otherwise? Who should we trust?
