  • Version of operating system (e.g. macOS 14.4.1):
  • Version of djay (e.g. 5.1.2):
  • Hardware/controllers used (e.g. Reloop Mixon 8 Pro):

Your question:

When I use my Ipad, with Djay and being connected by bluetooth to the speaker, then I connect the FLX4, the sound stops coming out by bluetooth and in sound options I can not choose the output by bluetooth, only appear the outputs of the flx4 or output by iPad speakers.

How can I make the sound come out via bluetooth connected to the flx4? I want to use it remotely.

on macOS if you can, thanks

Hi @Lacoda, while djay is running and connected to your FLX4 via USB cable,

  1. Swipe down from the top right side of your iPad and select the speaker icon
  2. Then choose your Bluetooth speaker for audio output instead of the FLX4

i think the issue is likely the dual connection of bluetooth devices…
FLX4 while connected as a bluetooth controller and another device connected for bluetooth audio output… doesnt always work with ipads…

i have in the past used a minirig speaker & korg nano studio kontrol controller both connected via bluetooth and got them working together on occasions, but getting them to both connect is inconsistent sometimes… im unsure if the iphoneSE2 vs the ipad air3 had any bearing on it, but i recall making the connection with the iphone se2 for both bluetooth devices…

another aspect i had noticed when connecting the above 2 bluetooth devices… is sometimes the audio from the minirig would cut-out… this i suspect was due to the volume sliders sending midi data on the same midi channels… causing a flood of midi messages to play catch up, & as such it always pays to spread volume sliders across multiple midi channels, to prevent or alleviate the issue of midi catchup when using dual bluetooth devices

Thanks for sharing @7nz.

My suggestion above assumes the FLX4 is connected to the iPad via USB, while the speaker is connected via Bluetooth. I would not recommend dual Bluetooth connections on iOS.

Yes. USB iPad flx4 and Bluetooth speakers. Thanks

@Lacoda, did the instructions above work then?

If I had asked sooner… I wouldn’t have missed the opportunity to use this great feature, thank you very much!

You’re welcome @Lacoda
