YOUR QUESTION:

Merci

Hi @Ineddy86550, please translate your post into English. Thanks!

Hello, I would like to know why Djay Pro does not have a writing system in the BPM tags of the track, like Serato, for example! It’s a feature I would greatly appreciate and will allow me to use only Djay to prepare my tracks and mixers! thanks

@Ineddy86550 thanks for translating!

djay doesn’t currently write its BPM analysis back into the file’s tags. Analysis and per-track data like cue points live in djay’s own library, so if you’re prepping and mixing entirely in djay, your BPMs are already saved and ready every time you load a track. Nothing needs to be in the tags for that.

If you need the BPM inside the file itself (for another app or a player), there’s a workaround on Mac:

  1. Right-click the playlist and choose Export as CSV File. The CSV includes BPM and Key.
  2. Import that CSV into a tag editor such as Mp3tag to write the BPM tag.

I hope that helps!

Thank you for your reply! Actually, it’s so I can use my tracks or playlist on other software, and additionally, when I remix my track I can include the BPM, which will be recognised by the device or the software! Currently, when I prepare my playlist I have my playlist analysed by Serato, which registers the BPMs in the tags, and with my titrating software I retrieve the data and use it to remove the track! I don’t fully understand the CSV file system, so it’s not a problem; I’ll continue as I was doing! I was just asking if Algoriddim had ever intended to include it in Dan Djay Pro!

@Ineddy86550 thanks for explaining your workflow. There’s nothing I can share about future plans for writing BPM to tags. If you want to create a new topic in the Suggestions section of this forum, I can pass this onto our dev team for consideration.

In the meantime, analyzing with Serato to write the tags and then mixing in djay is a solid way to handle it. Thanks!

Yes, if you can, you can forward this suggestion to the development team! Thank you for your help! I’ve been using DJay Pro for a while now and I’m not getting tired of it, and I’m not ready to switch to another software!

@Ineddy86550, please make a new topic in the Suggestions Category of this Community. Then you and other users can upvote it and I can share the feedback with our devs.

I think the paid version of Tagami has a feature where you can read the BPM values from the Djay pro database and then write them to the metadata of the files themselves.
