Can you use a launchpad with this program to launch samples and clips?

I purchased a launchpad a few days ago and was wondering if it could be used to launch samples and clips through djay. I do not want to purchase this software unless it can.

Do you have a Mac, iPad or iPhone?

The controller is not supported but if you have djay for Mac, then you can still use it via “MIDI learn”. Simply open “Configure…” from the “MIDI” menu to map your launchpad.

You can map the launchpad to trigger the 6 sample pads on djay for Mac. However, you need to first load the samples onto the pads in djay for Mac manually.

Let me know if you need any further help with this.

Mapping the controller:

  1. open “Configure…” from the “MIDI” menu

  2. press a button on your launchpad

  3. a new control should now be highlighted in the configuration window

  4. from the first drop down menu, select “Sampler”

  5. from the second drop down menu, select “Play Sample 1”

  6. repeat steps 2 to 5 for all 6 sample pads

Loading the samples:

  1. open the Sampler in djay for Mac by clicking on the “sampler grid” icon in the middle

  2. click on the triangular icon next to a sample pad to open the menu

  3. select your sample from the menu

  4. repeat steps 2 and 3 for all 6 sample pads

By the way, to add your own samples to djay so that you can select them in the sampler menu, all you need to do is copy them to this folder:

~/Music/djay/Samples

A Mac, can I configure the launchpad to launch pre-made samples using your software? I’m a little confused with the product description, would I be able to launch samples through this software?

Yeah thanks if you don’t mind, can you do step by step instructions to configure the launchpad and load samples, I’m sure its easy but just in case.

you can add all possible commands to your launchpad via the djay Pro midi mapping tool.

Only samples?
Can’t I map other triggers like play/synch or cuepoints to launchpad?

I know I’m a bit late with this, but I have created a Midi Mapping for Launchpad Pro.

Installation-Guide:

  1. Download
  2. Open Finder
  3. Go to Users > Your User > Music > Djay Pro > Midi Mapping
  4. Lay down the downloaded Midi Mapping
  5. Connect Launchpad
  6. Press Shift
  7. select the Orange Part in the first row
  8. Start djay pro
  9. go to midi > configure Launchpad Pro Standalone Port
  10. Select Midi Configuration Launchpad Pro Standalone Port Midi Mapping
  11. restart Djaypro and leave your Launchpad as it is
  12. Before Opening djay pro the next session, repeat step 5 to 7

deck 1 and 2 are identic just test a bit and you gonna see what is what.
Use the top for navigating through your library.
The 8 pads, which are unmarked are volume faders of a and b the master and the headphone level
the section in the lowest !Pad! row between the two green pads is the crossfader.
If someone requests I can create a picture that describes every single button.
