CDJ-style GUI for external displays

I have been doing some brainstorming regarding computer display setups, and part of me thinks that a valid solution could be to use an external monitor connected to my macbook. This way, I can protect it underneath the decks (there is space in my case) and instead worry about someone bumping into/spilling drinks onto a $100 monitor instead of my personal laptop.

It would be very cool to see some reworked GUIs for smaller screens, perhaps similar to the CDJ interface, where there are different screens for information (i.e. Waveforms, Library, Effects, Neural Mix, etc.). Even a GUI that is based on the iOS version would be nice!

Keep up the good work, I really appreciate all the effort that goes into keeping this software up to date!

Hi @shmimel, Thanks for the suggestion. I will share this with the dev team for consideration.

You could consider working with an iPad. It’s cheaper than a MacBook, smaller and more water/liquid resistance than a MacBook. (apart from feeling more direct-with the touch screen) These are some of the reasons why I use it.

I have been considering that, I’m keeping my eyes out for a used one that has at least an M1 chip. What model are you using? I have an older gen 2 ipad pro that struggles heavily with Neural Mix.

DJAY is still running smooth on an iPad Air 4 (2020) with an A14 chip. Also with neural mix and DVS.
