Change search parameters to include Filename

NOTE: Please use the search function above before posting to avoid creating duplicate topics.
Not sure if anyone at Algoriddim is aware of this, but Djay Pro doesn’t accurately search/identify any songs in my database by their filename. It’s programmed to search/identify songs by the title assigned (i.e., as located in the properties of any given song/file).

Example: I recently updated a typo I discovered in the filename of a song in my database. Although I easily corrected the filename via Windows Explorer (to avoid not finding it via Djay Pro’s search feature due to the original misspelling), I noticed Djay Pro only locates it if I search via the misspelled “title” of the song (again, as found in the properties of the file) and not by the filename I corrected. I’m sure I have software somewhere that would allow me to change the title of any given file - but Windows won’t allow me to do so when examining at its properties.

This may seem like a minor issue to some - but when you have multiple versions of any song (think remixes) I typically revise filenames to easily find any version(s) I may want to play. I’ve always been able to rename & find songs easily easily via Serato because it pulls results based on filenames, not titles…

In short, and if at all possible, I know I’d appreciate it if your dev team could figure out a way to change search parameters to help us more readily find songs/files by their filename as opposed to the title.

In windows, learn to use mp3tag, it’s pure gold to fix tags (i.e metadata) and filenames.

You can even read the metadata tags from filenames and write new filenames based on tags etc…
A lot of cool features

But yes…
You need full support for editing tags on windows platform

While I truly appreciate the recommendation to download/use a tag editor, making customers take this extra step isn’t that’s not the right answer in my mind. Generally speaking, file management via Djay Pro’s GUI isn’t nearly as efficient as it is in Serato… and if you’re going to compete against one of the most successful DJ platforms in the world, you should (minimally) offer the same basic features they do - and then improve upon them - especially via customer suggestions/feedback. While I’m totally enamored with Djay Pro’s operational features (it’s super slick!), if I have to jump through too many hoops to make it more intuitive and functional for me, I may just end up sticking with Serato and cancelling my Algoriddm subscription.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestion; hoping someone from Djay Pro will see/respond.

Thanks for the suggestion @Tom_Newton. Good idea. I have forwarded this to the dev team for consideration. In the meantime, please use the blue Vote button at the top left of this page so we can gauge user demand for this feature. Thanks!
