Charging iPad Air while it is connected to Inpulse T7

  • Device model : iPad Air 5th Gen
  • Version of operating system : iOS 26.5
  • Version of djay : 5.6.5
  • Hardware/controllers used : Inpulse T7
  • Hardware firmware version

I recently bought Inpulse T7 and have been using it with Djay Pro on my iPad Air(5th Gen) – it works great, but I have one question. I’m connecting my iPad Air and the T7 via USB, and I have the T7 plugged into a power adapter with its power switch turned on. Is there any way to keep my iPad Air charging while it’s connected?

I tried using a USB-C hub/splitter with the iPad – I connected the T7 to one USB-C port on the hub and plugged a power adapter into another port to supply power to the iPad, but as soon as I do that, the T7 shuts off. Does anyone know how to charge the iPad Air while using the T7 at the same time?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @kangsta, you need a good quality, powered USB-C hub with pass through power delivery (PD).

  1. Connect it directly to your iPad’s USB-C connector.
  2. Then connect your Apple charger and cable to the PD/charging socket on the hub.
  3. Then connect your T7 to one of the USB-A or USB-C sockets on the hub.
  4. Make sure your T7 is also connected to power with its supplied adapter connected to a wall outlet.
  5. I recommend you choose a reputable hub brand like UGreen, Belkin, Anker or Baseus. I personally use the UGreen Revodok 1071.
