Configuring Rane Performer Buttons for Stems Behavior

Is it possible to customize the behavior of the pads on the Rane Performer when using stems? I’d love to be able to set a button to echo out the vocal to an instrumental or echo out to an accapella? Is this possible, or another way to do it? The tempo matching is just incredible, but this would be icing on the cake.

Hi @doncolga, there currently is no built-in option to perform the exact function as you have described. However, you can customize the MIDI mapping of the performance pads as desired. For more info on how to MIDI map in djay on macOS, please see below. I hope that helps!

I think the easiest way to achieve something like you’ve described is using the Instant FX pad mode in djay. At the bottom of the FX options, we have Echo Out FX for the vocal and drum STEMs.
