Hello, can anyone help because I am having trouble connecting the reloop buddy through a usb hub and I have tried several hubs now with both type c power passthrough with data type c which is connected to the controller but what ever I do the iPad doesn’t recognise the reloop buddy.
I have looked through forums and google but no luck. I have upgraded my cables and tried switching from IOS to PC with the little switch on the side.
The reloop buddy is brand new and my iPad is iPad 13 Pro 4 version 26.
The reloop bubby works great when connected directly but my music is on usb sticks and I want to use a hub.
My latest hub is a UGREEN USB C Hub, Revodok Pro 106 which has power and two type c data ports.
After restarting, connect your powered USB-C hub to your iPad and confirm there is a blue peripheral icon in the top right of your iPad screen.
Connect your original Apple charger and cable to the USB-C hub and confirm that your iPad is charging.
Connect your DJ controller to the USB hub using a high-quality USB cable (ideally with dual ferrites on either end). I recommend that you use the PC/Power USB-B port on the side of the Buddy. Make sure the switch is set to PC to match the USB port you are connected to.
Hello, thank you for your quick reply. I have tried what you suggested and everything worked until the part where Algoriddim didn’t find the Reloop Buddy in scan for MIDI changes.
I then unplugged the hub and plugged in the cable from the Reloop Buddy straight to the iPad and it acknowledged it right away after moving the switch back from pc to ios. So it’s not a cable issue and the hub is brand new.
You’re welcome @Jazon. Make sure the charger that you connect to your hub can provide at least 5V, 2.1A of power. If using a higher wattage charger doesn’t solve your issue then, it sounds like an issue with your hub our the Reloop Buddy hardware then. I recommend that you contact Reloop Support to see if they can offer any additional suggestions. I hope that helps!
I did it! I had the usb b cable plugged into a power adapter as well but you are supposed to plug the cable into the usb hub. I thought the hub and Reloop Buddy had to both have separate power sources but it turns out the RB gets its power from the hub too.
I have spent 5 days trying, waiting to sort this by buying different hubs and cables.
