Critical Scratch/Jog Bug on AlphaTheta CDJ-3000X

  • Device model: MacBook Pro M4 Pro

  • Version of operating system: macOS Tahoe 26.3.1

  • Version of djay: 5.6.3

  • Hardware/controllers used: 2x AlphaTheta CDJ-3000X + Pioneer DJM-S11 (Hub)

  • Hardware firmware version: v1.31 (CDJ) / v1.05 (S11)

A) SUMMARY OF ISSUE:

Critical intermittent glitch while scratching in HID mode. The jog wheel becomes unresponsive or shows high latency randomly since the 5.6.3 update.

B) DETAILED STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Connect 2x CDJ-3000X to the USB hub of a DJM-S11.

  2. Launch djay Pro 5.6.3 on macOS Tahoe.

  3. Link units via HID mode.

  4. Perform scratching, rapid back-and-forth movements or backspin. Video

C) EXPECTED RESULTS:

Smooth, 1:1 responsive scratching performance (It was working perfectly before the v5.6.3 update)

D) ACTUAL RESULTS

The software often fails to track the jog movement correctly, leading to “jumps,” lag, or total loss of response during the scratch.

Note: I have already tested this exact hardware setup on Rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro to rule out any hardware or cable issues. Everything works perfectly on those apps. I notice this after updating to djay Pro v5.6.3.
