I am new to djay pro and trying to get a very simple (I would think) result out of the product. Whether in AutoMix or Live mode, I would like to have the transition immediately go to full volume for the track that just started and let the track that is finishing run full volume as well until the crossfade time is reached. I can simulate this without using transitions in manual mode by leaving the crossfader in the middle position and manually starting the next track. My issue is that the whole idea of AutoMix is to provide an automation of sorts that can run attended both pre and post show while I set up and tear down.
I have set the Crossfader Waveform to cut in the Sound->Mixer setting and set the transition type to fade or dissolve in the AutoMix settings. When set it up this way, I get a transition that that appears to be a fade or dissolve “waveform”, not the “cut” waveform. If there was an option to set the transition to “cut” that would make more sense to me but that option is not available.
Are there any other setting that need to be adjusted to make this work as I would like to?
Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Hi @jwg1963,
Thanks for sharing your topic!
This is actually expected behavior. Automix will ignore the current crossfader settings to work as intended.
It’d be interesting to hear more about how you might see this behavior changing to meet your requirements.
Feel free to share any and all info!
@NathanielAlgo Glad to know its “as expected” and also, I did more tests with the cut waveform and live transitions and it works the way I expect so we are good there.
My attraction to DJay Pro was the Apple Music (and other services) integration. My specific primary use case is as a pub trivia host where I need both automation type functionality before and after the show and full manual control during the show. So for example, pre show would be a 15 minute playlist with pre recorded voice drop-ins announcing the upcoming show. I would like that to run in an automation state with no silence gaps (transitions), potential voice over music utilizing start/end cues, much like a radio station automation system would perform. During the live show, I can then do manual starts with no auto trigger of the next deck but yet have it preloaded ready to go after the questions is given. Post show would be similar to pre show.
My problem with AutoMix is that the least intrusive transition is a fade which uses a fade up/fade down waveform which makes the transition seem very unprofessional (to me) if the idea is to make it sound tight like a live mix. I finally figured out how to set start/end cues in Windows (keyboard shortcuts only???) so I am 75% of the way there. If it was possible to put the main system into a mode where it honored the end cue to trigger the start cue on the next deck and autoload the next audio file in the playlist (I know that sounds like AutoMix!) that would do it. The difference is that I could have song1 loaded and playing in deck 1, voice over loaded and triggered in deck 2, with song 2 in deck three being triggered by the end cue on the voice over. I see the option for thru mode on the transition slider only when in 4 deck mode but I haven’t been able to figure out how to turn on thru mode on and off in AutoMix mode.
I may be trying to get too much functionality out of one program but DJay Pro gave me the most hope.
Thanks for your feedback thus far.
