Recently, the crossfader FX are always activated for me after starting Djay on a current iPad Pro M4. This is not the case on an older iPad. I have not found a corresponding option in the settings, but maybe I just overlooked it. Can anyone give me a tip on this?
Hi @Chris_R, please navigate to the djay *Settings>General and disable Auto-Play When Moving Crossfader.
Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately that wasn’t it.
You’re welcome. Can you please share a short video of what’s going on? Perhaps I’m misunderstanding the issue. Thanks!
The crossfader FX are automatically activated when I start Djay. Even if I deactivate them, they are active again the next time I start Djay. What’s strange is that this is only the case on the iPad Pro M4; it’s not the case on the iPhone and an older iPad Pro.
- Are you mainly using Automix on your iPad? Please note since a recent djay update, Automix and CFX are now tied together (ie. Automix will automatically enable CFX as needed).
- What version of djay and iPadOS are you using?
- Do you have any hardware connected? If so, do this happen with or without hardware connected?
- I tested this several times on my iPad and when I turn CFX Off and restart djay, it remains off. iPad Pro M4, iPadOS 18.5 and djay 5.3.3.
- No
- 5.3.3
- With & without Hardware connected
- IPad OS 18.6 Beta 2 on all devices
The beta iOS could be the issue. I’d try the following:
Please close djay and follow the procedure below to perform a Forced Restart of your iOS device:
Retest to see if that makes a difference. If not, I’d recommend switching back to iOS 18.5 or doing a fresh djay installation.
I suggest that you backup your djay Media Library database and any custom MIDI mappings, then uninstall djay, reboot your device, and reinstall the latest version of djay. You can find the files above in the following location:
iOS: using the Files App, navigate to Locations->On My iPhone/iPad->djay->User Data
Copy the files to a new location or external drive before uninstalling djay. After reinstallation, you can simply copy these files back to their original locations to maintain your Hot Cues, Saved Loops, My Collection Playlists, History and Queue.
Unfortunately not the track analysis data. I had this problem a few weeks ago when I reinstalled DJay and had to reanalyze every track, which of course took a lot of time. I would like to do without this, it’s not worth it at the moment.
That’s correct. Then I’d recommend the Forced Restart and reverting back to iOS 18.5.
