Custom UI-Grid & Widget-like module sizes

Shortly:
just like customized widgets on ios devices, a more customizable, flexible and personalised Interface. The idea is just let the user to use layout Real estate like the user really NEEDS.

The “why”:
As a new Djay pro user the first impression i got from it is that finally a system that understands it needs to adapt to the users and not the other way around.
i know its a long shot and kinda big request but i believe it totally makes sense.
There isnt a perfect layout, there’s only MY perfect layout (or yours). if we all could choose by our own needs then Djay will allways be the perfect layout and the interface will never be a competitve consideration to migrate - it allways wins.

The "What"and the “How”:

The Area above the library can be a grid with a fixed 1 unit size, for example a 12x72 units and moduels or buttons like CUE, Play, Pitch Slide, Saved Loops or Cues, Mixer, FX etc. will be able to move on the grid.
The important part i think is also to create a compact (or enlarged) mode for some mudules. lets just say my saved cues - i do want to see them on my screen but there is no need they will be as large as they are now so instead of a 2hx2w unit size for each saved cue i’d like a mode that is a 1hx2w, The time or name can be inside the color badge and bang! i just saved 50% of the module space. you can look at it like a “Compact or edit” mode or as a “Small-Medium-Large” mode.
Maybe if i want an extended waveform all along the screen and the saved cues could be on top of it in one row: a 1h by 16w units (1hx2w x 8 cues).
Or the artwork issue, if it was smaller or removable then the artist-title-bpm-time-key could be a single-row and because its a view-only feature anyway, Text colors will make the difference and it keeps being snap-view readable.
I can keep with examples for like 83 pages but i think i made my point.

I believe most of the modules dont need to be controlled manually by mouse and dj’s on duty want to see them just for that extra info moment on the fly, so if there isn’t a real NEED for that size why wont you let me choose whats best for me?

Hi @Shay_Manshary, thanks for the suggestion! I have forwarded this to the dev team for consideration. In the meantime, please use the blue Vote button at the top left of this page so we can gauge user demand for this feature. Thanks!

Your idea makes a lot of sense, and I agree with you completely. The beauty of a tool like Djay Pro is that it should fit the way each person works, not the other way around. Having a flexible interface where users can drag, resize, or hide modules based on what they really need would make a huge difference. Just like we arrange widgets on our phones, being able to adjust the layout to match your own workflow would make it faster and more comfortable to use. Whether it’s shrinking cue points, hiding artwork, or stretching out waveforms, these small changes can have a big impact during a live set. At the end of the day, we all use software differently, and letting the user decide what’s important on their screen just seems like the smart way forward. Any good app development company would understand the value of giving users that kind of control and flexibility.

Hi @tonni6030, welcome to the Community! Thanks for the additional input.

A thought that has been on my mind for quite some time: Why can’t you customize the interface manually to suit your own needs?

It is possible to show and hide the jog wheels, etc., but I would like to see a modular system where you can freely place individual parts, adjust the size, etc.! A DJay App Builder or something like that. This would allow every user to build their own user interface according to their preferences. Is something like this realistic?

Hi @realdjpyro, thanks for the suggestion. It’s closely related to this existing one, so I’ve merged them together. Please use the blue Vote button at the top left of this page. Thanks!
