DDJ-FLX4 (Built-In) MIDI Mapping (Cannot use Smart CFX & Smart Fader buttons)

  • M1 Macbook Air, iPhone 15, iPad 10th generation:
  • macOS 14.6.1 and iOS and iPadOS 17
  • djay Pro v5.2.3:
  • Pioneer DDJ-FLX4
Notes: Wanted to revisit this issue to see if it can be fixed.

Summary of the issue:
Please enable the Smart CFX and Smart Fader buttons in the DDJ-FLX4 (Built-In) MIDI Mapping. Currently, the buttons “do nothing” and cannot be mapped at all.

Thanks for the information @Michael_Wisniewski. I have forwarded this to the engineering team. I’ll report back here when I have news. Thanks!

MIDI mapping of the Smart Fader button was added in djay 5.2.6. At the bottom of the mappings list there are the mappings “Smart Fader (Echo)” and “Smart Fader (Reverb)” and they can be changed.

Is it still not possible to change the selected Smart CFX in the midi mapping? When CFX is enabled, the only possible options are still Stutter (if turned to the left) and Riser (if turned to the right).

Hi @celiako, welcome to the Community! Yes, that is correct.

I have a feeling that the Smart Fader with the FLX4 on Djay PC and iOS is still doesn’t working without manual mapping. Is it like that?

Firmware updated to the latest…

Hi @T0kEn, welcome to the Community! I’ve merged your new topic with this existing one. I don’t have access to a FLX4 to check for myself, but I’m pretty sure you need to MIDI map this yourself. Please see above for more details.
