DDJ-FLX4 to iPhone Connection Question

Hi, just got a Pioneer DDJ-FLX4. I’ve got it hooked up to speakers and my IPhone 14 by a USBC going into the controller and other end of the wire is a lightening connector.

I’ve got DJAY on my phone but it’s not connecting to the controller?

Any help much appreciated.

  1. Are you using your original Apple USB-C to Lightning cable that came with your iPhone 14?
  2. Is your FLX4 also connected to power using the supplied adapter?
  3. Can you please confirm that your phone is charging properly when connected to the FLX4?

Hi again @Smiffy1799, it’s also important to follow the correct connection sequence exactly as outlined in the FLX4 User Manual:

  1. Launch djay on your iPhone.
  2. Connect your iPhone to the Computer/Table USB-C socket via your original Apple USB-C to Lightning cable.
  3. Connect the FLX4 Power USB socket to 9V, 3A USB charging brick.

  4. Then retest and let me know if that solves you issue.

Hi, yeah everything is connected correctly because if I plug my iPhone 15 in it works, but it’s for my son and need it to work on his iPhone 14 but for some reason it’s just not picking it up?

Yes, the phone charges when plugged in.

Hi @Smiffy1799, thanks for confirming.

  1. Please disconnect the phone from the FLX4 then close djay and follow the procedure below to perform a Forced Restart: Force restart iPhone - Apple Support (CA)
  2. After rebooting, repeat the exact connection procedure above.
  3. If this doesn’t work, then I recommend that you purchase a Genuine Apple Lightning to USB 3 camera adapter and try connecting to the FLX4 using it.

You should try a different cable first.
