DDJ-SP1 FX buttons

Hi

Im using the DDJ-SP1 with the Mac version of Djay Pro (onan M1 Macbook Pro) and im struggling with a couple of the functions. Id like to use the FX assign buttons to make the FX section on the device control the FX on channels 3/4 in Djay.

Is this possible with this device? As currently the buttons seem inactive.

Hi @STU-C, welcome to the Community! Sorry for the delayed reply. I don’t have access to this hardware to confirm for myself, but it is possible that these buttons do not send MIDI messages inside djay’s MIDI Learn tool. However, you can start by checking this for yourself first.

  2. Once you have familiarized yourself with this tool, simply press the FX buttons in question while inside the tool to see if they register a MIDI command. If so, let me know and I can try to help you further. I hope that helps!

Hi, thank you for the reply, ill give that a go tonight.

In Serato those buttons are to assign the FX bank to a certain deck, can something similar be achieved in Djay? i know each deck has its own on board FX (which is different to Serato), but currently the hardware FX section will only control channels 1 and 2 in Djay.

You’re welcome @STU-C. In djay the left and right deck FX are fixed to their respective decks. You cannot assign them to another deck like you can in other DJ software. I hope that helps!

That makes snese, thank you, it would only have been on occassion when i was using FX on the 3rd deck so not a massive issue.
