Please give DJay Pro the ability to completely remove deleted songs from the library. After deleting a song from a playlist and also deleting it from the hard drive, it disappears from the playlist but remains in the library and search results only ‘Greyed Out’. I obviously can’t play it after that, so it has no use being in the library. After some time and many deleted songs it makes for a very cluttered library. If I manually look for the song in the main library (this takes ages as using the search box doesn’t locate the track in the library), I can then delete it completely.
While I’m at it, coming from Serato, it has the ability to completely remove a song from the entire library, search results AND hard drive in one step from within Serato. Command + Shift + Backspace does the trick. The same keys delete a song from DJay playlist, but please make this function do the same i.e.delete it from the entire library AND hard drive. It would be greatly appreciated.
Voted….currently I Am rebuilding my library and it’s a pain to get everything organized without this feature. So the work around is to use Serato to manage the playlist until everything is straight
there is duplicate files in your library that is not shown in your music folders,
The file has ( ,_ ) in the beginning of the filename,
example :
,_name of song - artist of song
to see this file in windows go into folder options and enable “show hidden files” not sure how you do this with macs, google it.
delete these duplicate files and the original music file will be deleted from Djay Pro for good.
this is how I delete files from DJay Pro for good,
ps. still experimenting with library management in DJay Pro
For anyone trying to do this in the future, you can select all your songs in the playlist, copy them into a folder, then delete your old folder and point them to the new folder. Not ideal if you’re dealing with 10,000 + tracks but for my library that was a good workaround. For now I’ll be playing using the finder feature and organize through folders on my Mac instead of the built in playlist feature. I’ll end up with duplicates, but I’d rather be organized.
I’d like to suggest a feature that could significantly improve the user experience: the ability to delete files directly from the app’s library.
For example, let’s say I have 10 tracks in my library within the app, and I realize that 5 of them are tracks I no longer play or never use at all. As a DJ, it would save a lot of time and streamline the workflow if I could delete those tracks right from the app itself.
As a former Traktor user, I found it very useful that when deleting a track from the app’s library, it offered the option to also remove the file from the hard drive. This made managing both the library and device storage much easier and more efficient.
I believe adding this option would make it simpler for DJs to maintain a clean and organized library—especially when identifying unused tracks, lower-quality files (below 320 kbps, for instance), or any other personal selection criteria. It would also help optimize storage on laptops and other devices without having to switch between the app and the file manager.
I think this would be a fantastic improvement to the library management experience
Hi @Peppertheband, thanks for the suggestion. It’s similar to this existing one so I’ve merged them together. Please cast your vote for this above. Thanks!
