Deleting Crates 5.2.1

Macbook M2
Djay 5.2.1

Is there any way to delete crates on the Mac?

I tried DJay Pro out about a year ago, didn’t gel with it and returned to Rekordbox. Now I’ve picked up a Reloop Mixtour Pro and will need to use DJay Pro.

However, I’ve got no way to delete the crates on the left hand side - all the files are greyed out because the foilders they were linked to are no longer relevant/even there anymore. I’ve tried CMD and delete, no joy. Right click doesn’t even pretend to work. I can’t delete the greyed out files individually either, nor the crates they are in. None of the Google suggestions work, neither do any suggestions from the archives here.

I’ve uninstalled the entire app - reinstalled and they were right there, back again, staring at me.

Does anyone have any idea how to do this basic thing?

Sometimes it’s just easier to delete whole medialibrary database and start from the initial empty medialibrary.

Thanks for the answer, mate. Is there any easy tutorial on how to delete the media library database and start again?

This is the official document

What I do, when I clean up my mac I delete
App data from i.e whole directory
~/Music/djay/

Track analysis data from:

~/Library/Group Containers/VJXTL73S8G.com.algoriddim.userdata/Library/Application Support/Algoriddim/

That should delete and reset everything!

Note! I frequently back up my ~/Music/djay/ to external drive

But then, if you need to clear data of another apps, check their documentation.

Thanks so much for that! I’ll do that.

I’m just looking for a completely fresh start - I’m going to have a separate library for djay and rekordbox going forward and keep my djay library as minimal as possible, so being able to do that will be brilliant.

Thanks again!

Hi @thegingermark, sorry for the delayed response here. @dj_romy_fi thanks for the help on this one! If you are talking about the Serato Crate source, then this is, unfortunately, a read only source. It sounds like starting with a fresh djay Media Library database is your best option. Please let me know if you need any further assistance.
