Denon Prime Go Mapping list

  • Ipad Pro 11":
  • DJay Pro ( 5.1.2)*:
  • Denon Prime Go:

Is there a list of what each button does on the Prime Go that controls the functions for Djay Pro somewhere? Or is this something i can look up once its connected to the controller?

Is there a button thatā€™s not doing what you expected? The controls are labelled on the Go, and it would be expected that it performs the same function within djay Pro.

The Prime Go is labeled for Engine OS, but for instance. The A and B buttons on the Prime Go are actually Neural Mix stem kill switches for djay pro. Engine OS does not have stems yet. and if i double tap the Roll button it will utilized the top 4 effect pads on my djay pro software and if i hit the bank button it will use the bottom 4 effect pads. but only on the left side of my controller. It does not do this on the right side.

Virtual Djay has a link for their layout used on the Prime Go https://www.virtualdj.com/manuals/hardware/denon/primego/layout.html i was wondering if Djay Pro had a layout as well.

Hi @DjJRamz, we donā€™t publish MIDI Mapping lists for hardware. However, you can use the MIDI Learn tool in djay to see what each button is pre-mapped to. You can also use this tool to customize the mapping as desired.

This was very helpful. thank you.

Youā€™re welcome @DjJRamz

The Prime Go is a great little kit and just about every button/dial can be mapped besides,
Mic 1 on/off
Mic 2 on/off
FX Assign 1
FX Assign 2
FX On/Off button
Mic 1 & 2 knobs (Although they obviously work for plugged in mics)
Aux knob (works with an Aux device plugged in)
Master and Booth (again, works as they are labeled to, just canā€™t be mapped to anything else.)

I have mine heavily mapped to my personal preference, but donā€™t use the official map, rather one that was made by a fellow Dj, I just edited that map.

Hi, Iā€™ve got the same issue. If I look at the midi mapping thereā€™s a lot of repeating sections for the pad banks. They all have the same midi notes so Iā€™m struggling to work out what pad bank combination activates each section?

For instance, how do you tell that double clicking the roll button activates the 4 fx pads in DJay?

So the Hot Cue, Loop, Roll & Bank buttons arenā€™t midi mappable but they do change the functions of the Cue buttons,
I have mine mapped a little differently though,

When I press the Hot Cue button, Pads 1-4 activate Neural Mix Mute (Pad 1 activates Neural Mix mute Vocals etc.)

When I press the Loop Pad, the pads activate Instant FX 1-4,
Pressing the Loop Pad again, activates Instant FX 5-8

When I press the Roll Pad, the pads 1-4 activates Samples 1-4
Pressing the Roll Pad again, activates Samples 5-8

OK, I think that makes sense. Basically the cue, loop etc buttons are ā€˜hardcodedā€™ and (in Traktor terminology) add a modifier to the midi note being sent, but you cant see that in the midi mapping file?
So it just needs a bit of trial and error and probably what would help would be to rename the section headers (eg roll button 1 press, roll button 2 press etc)?

Yes hardcoded would be the best description of it,
Depending on how much you use the actual functions, it really becomes muscle memory, Personally I donā€™t really use the Sampler function much so I had to remember by pressing it where it was mapped,

I have so many different mapped buttons/dials from the ā€œin builtā€ map but because I use them regularly, it has now become second nature.
The Shift +button really expands so much more mappable features,
