Well, of course I couldn’t wait till the weekend before trying the SC6000M’s out, so I ripped out my set up last night and started again. To my surprise the SC6000M’s were pretty much plug in and play with Mac. I’m well chuffed.
@Slak_Jaw Can I ask if this means these wonderful units are officially now supported (minus the screen, of course), or is this just a great little midi map that has been bundled along with the SC6000’s?
Hi @Archiesbald and @zrevs1, I’m guessing that we did add official support for the SC6000M at some point, but maybe forgot to update our hardware support page. I will check with our engineering team on Monday to confirm though. Thanks!
Hello again @Archiesbald and @zrevs1, I can confirm that the Denon DJ SC6000M PRIME is officially supported on macOS, Windows and iOS. Please note, however that the Main screen and jog screen is not supported. We have added it to our hardware support page as well. Thanks!
Would I be right in saying we will be able to map this unit to our hearts content after the next update? I don’t have much use for the Slicer button and would like to map Stems/Stem Effect to that pad bank, if possible. My limited understanding is that the continuous tone from the platter might have been impeding this.
You’re welcome @Archiesbald. Yes, the constant MIDI note issue should be addressed in 5.6.4. So, you should be able to remap certain buttons. However, please note that the Slicer Pad Mode Function requires some “under the hood” coding that is performed outside of the MIDI Learn tool. Completely replacing the Slicer Pad mode is not possible within the MIDI Learn tool. You would need to edit the XML file to properly remove it - I do not recommend attempting this if you are not familiar with modifying XML files.
OP here, and I’m happy to report that the release fixed the midi issue with the SC6000M!
With the player connected straight into my iPad, the midi mapping is now able to be navigated by pressing buttons and knobs without a constant signal interfering. I successfully mapped the left arrow to instant double to the left deck and finally got the behavior I’ve been looking for.
As you’ve probably seen posted here and there, the default instant doubles behavior on the SC6000 (and I think other players) by double-clicking the navigation knob doubles FROM another deck to the active one. Kinda the opposite of what I want. I do one deck mixing and I want to double AWAY to another deck.
Anyway, thanks again to you and the team for solving this issue super quickly. It’s greatly appreciated.
I have another SC6000M issue (possible bug?) to bring up but I’ll do that on another thread.
