Detailed connection instructions: Numark Mixstream Pro Go

Greetings,

Can someone please give me detailed instructions or a link to a video showing me how to get DJ Pro 5.2.6 to work with my Numark Mixstream Pro Go controller on my MacBook? I would like to use DJ Pro to control the autoplay when I’m not at my controller.

I have no clue as how to do this. All help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Emad_Leiman, the best place to start would be to familiarize yourself with the Mixstream Pro Go user manual available on the Numark website along with the djay Pro manual available on the Algoriddim website. I don’t have access to this specific hardware, but after reviewing the user manual myself, I would suggest the following:

  1. Switch the Mixstream Pro Go to Computer Mode:
  • Power on the Mixstream Pro Go.
  • On the Mixstream Pro Go touchscreen:
    1. Tap the Source icon in the toolbar.
    2. Select Computer Mode from the source list.
  • The screen will indicate that the device is in Computer Mode.
  1. Connect the Mixstream Pro Go to Your MacBook:
  • Use the included USB-B to USB-A cable to connect the USB-B socket on the back of the Mixstream to the USB-A socket on your MacBook. If your Mac is USB-C, you’ll need a USB-C hub or a USB-B to USB-C cable.
  1. Open djay Pro:
  • Launch the software on your MacBook.
  1. Enable the Controller:
  • djay Pro should automatically recognize the Mixstream Pro Go. If not:
    • Go to Preferences>Devices in djay Pro.
    • Make sure the Mixstream Pro Go is displayed here.
  1. Load Tracks:
  • Use the controller’s Browse Knob and Load Buttons to navigate and load tracks onto the decks.
  1. Test Functionality:
  • Use the controller’s jog wheels, pads, and faders to ensure full functionality within djay Pro.

Here’s is some info from the djay Pro user manual on how to use Automix:

  1. Switch to Automix view via the layout dashboard.
  2. The Automix side panel will display the currently selected playlist as your play queue.
  3. Hit the Automix button to start Automix.
  4. Tweak your Automix settings in the preferences.
  5. Repeat or shuffle your queue.
  6. Edit your start/end points to choose where the transitions happen.
  7. Quickly access your Automix transitions.

To automate things further, you can use the Automix playlist panel to keep the music flowing. There are three ways to add music to the Automix playlist: Manual, Matching Songs, and Current Playlist. Switch between the different sources by using the drop-down just belowleft of the Start/Stop Automix button.

  1. Manual lets you create and manage your own playlist by adding music manually, using drag-and-drop.
  2. Matching Songs uses djay’s Track Match feature to find tracks from all sources that work with the current track.
  3. Current Playlist loads all the tracks from the currently selected playlist, and plays through them in the order they are listed.

To load the next track from the Automix playlist into the queue, click the Start Automix
button at the top of the panel.

You can further adjust the Automix Settings. The Automix transitions menu, #7 in the first image above, lets you quickly change how Automix blends two tracks together. These transitions include a variety of staple and advanced DJ techniques to suit any genre of music.

1. Automatic: Analyzes the playing and incoming tracks to choose the best transition effect from the list.
2. Neural Mix: Blends elements such as instruments/vocals between tracks using Neural Mix audio separation.
3. Dissolve: Delicately evaporates the outgoing track.
4. Echo: Gives you a fast mix into the new track while the outgoing one bounces off into the distance.
5. EQ: Swaps the bass of the playing tracks for a light transition.
6. Riser: Creates that festival feel, steadily creating energy before swapping the tracks.
7. Filter: A classic DJ staple, with a screaming filter cutting out the old while the new fades in.
8. Fade: Your basic blend between two tracks, crossfading from one to the other
